Over the weekend, residents of Greater Noida engaged in two separate events to address pending property registries and civic concerns. Homebuyers demonstrated for flat registries and met with authorities, while numerous Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) participated in a civic issues forum led by the new Noida authority CEO.

Homebuyers Rally for Registry and Possession
Homebuyers from around 25 societies in Greater Noida West took to the streets to draw attention to critical issues involving stalled flat registries and incomplete housing projects. They urged authorities to expedite the completion of incomplete homes and facilitate swift registration for those whose residences are ready.

Abhishek Kumar, president of the New Era Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), expressed optimism about authorities reactions so far but emphasised that the efforts have been insufficient in comparison to the scale of the problem. Demonstrations involved societies like Sanskriti, Aqua Garden, Apex Golf Avenue, and others.

Efforts and Challenges
Kumar maintained that despite recent progress in registries and reactions from authorities, the problems enormity requires greater efforts. He mentioned that the protests will continue until every buyer secures possession of their flats. Residents participating in the demonstrations voiced their frustration over delayed possessions and incomplete paperwork hindering their home ownership.

Meetings with Authorities
The NEFOWA delegation met Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh and GNIDA CEO Ravi Kumar NG on Saturday to address the registry and possession issues. CEO Kumar assured active efforts to resolve these matters and expedite solutions for affected buyers.

Civic Issues Forum: During a janta darbar held at Sector 34 community centre, more than 30 RWAs and senior officials met with Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M to discuss lingering civic problems. These issues included dirty water in drains, waterlogging during rains, maintenance of parks and green belts, clogged sewers, and concerns about vendor zones in various sectors.

CEO Lokesh M acknowledged the concerns and revealed plans to conduct a survey of the wetland in Sector 51. This step aims to identify solutions that facilitate the smooth flow of water in the drains, thereby alleviating waterlogging and other related problems.
