The second phase of the airport will cover an area of 1,365 hectares, of which 1,180 hectares will be acquired, and the remaining 183 hectares are already with the government.

The land acquisition for the second phase of the Noida international airport is set to begin in July, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The Uttar Pradesh government has notified the establishment of townships in Falaida Cut and Modal Pur to relocate the villagers from whom the land will be acquired for the airports second phase.

To build the two townships, the government will require 230 hectares of land. ADM (land acquisition) Balram Singh stated that they had released a notification for individuals to submit objections, if any. Once those objections are resolved, they will commence compensating and obtaining land ownership.

The largest of the six villages from where land will be acquired is Ranhera. KP Singh, a resident of Ranhera, stated that the acquisition process would most likely begin in two months. The government will set up camps to register objections from May 22 to 24. The villagers will be relocated only after the townships are built, and the acquisition process is expected to begin in July.

For the airports first phase, the government has already acquired 1,334 hectares of land, which has been handed over to the concessionaire, Zurich AG, for construction. The second phase of the airport will cover an area of 1,365 hectares, of which 1,180 hectares will be acquired, and the remaining 183 hectares are already with the government.

The government will acquire land in six villages Ranhera, Dayanatpur, Karauli Bangar, Mundrah Kuraib, and Birampur, affecting around 13,000 families. To address villagers demands, the government has decided on two township site Falaida Cut and Modal Pur.

As per the R&R policy, the government will provide a job to each family that opts for it. Families that do not opt for employment will receive a one time payment of Rs 5 lakh. The Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) will ensure that jobs are provided per the applicant's qualifications and skills. Family members will also be given ID cards indicating the airport project has displaced them.

The resettlement process will take place over the next two years. To improve transportation accessibility, Falaida Cut will be connected with the Yamuna Expressway and a suggested 75 meter road that will run through sectors 23B and 23C of the Yamuna Authority. Likewise, Modal Pur will be linked with the proposed Palwal Khurja Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway service road.
