Gurgaon to Faridabad Metro to connect Rapid Metro

The government of Haryana has authorised the construction of a metro connection linking Gurgaon and Faridabad. Since the government has already formulated the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed project, it indicates that the planning phase is well underway with 12 proposed stations.

The Haryana Government has granted the nod for the construction of a metro link between Gurgaon and Faridabad. The new Faridabad Gurgaon metro line will be an extension of the Violet Line of Delhi Metro which will connect to the Rapid Metro Line in Gurgaon. The intent of this project is to enhance connectivity within the National Capital Region (NCR), which will reduce pollution and alleviate traffic congestion.

Gurgaon to Faridabad Metro Stations List
The proposed metro project will pass through the Delhi NIT assembly region and Piyali Chowk, with 12 stations covering a distance of around 34.12 km. The metro stations in Faridabad will be located at Bata Chowk, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Piyali Chowk, Pali Chowk, Police Chowki Mangar, and Barkhal Enclave. In Gurgaon, they will be situated at Sector56, Gwal Pahari, Sushant Lok, Sushant LokPhase III, Rosewood City, and Vatika Chowk.

Seamless connectivity across NCR
The metro line between Gurgaon and Faridabad is designed to facilitate easy interchange with other metro lines, ensuring smooth connectivity to various parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). Commuters will be able to transfer seamlessly between the Gurgaon to Faridabad metro line and the Rapid Metro Line at the Sector 56 Station in Gurgaon, as well as the Violet Line at Bata Chowk in Faridabad.

New commercial and residential zones
Despite receiving the green signal, the project will only begin once the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is ready and gets the required approvals. A metro link between Gurgaon and Faridabad has been a long standing demand of citizens in both cities. It will also have a strong impact on the real estate markets as the route passes through developing regions of these cities. The government is also preparing to develop the areas around the metro stations, creating new residential and commercial zones and boosting economic growth in the region.
