The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has increased the prices for housing units built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). However, the decision will apply to new allottees only.

In a recent development, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has increased the cost of new houses planned under PMAY. The new housing units will be available at Rs 6 lakh, instead of the earlier Rs 4.5 lakh. Besides, the developmental charges for the new PMAY units have also been increased.

According to Krishna Karunaesh, Vice-Chairman, GDA, “The civic body has increased the development charges to Rs 3,314 per sq m, applicable at the time of layout sanctioning of new houses across Ghaziabad. However, the charges in Modinagar, Muradnagar and Loni areas have been fixed at Rs 1,200 per sq m.”

The price hike will apply to the new allottees only. Beneficiaries who have already received the houses under the scheme will not be affected.

GDA has also passed the budget for the Financial Year (FY) 2021-22. The annual budget proposed an outlay of Rs 1001 crore and a revenue target of Rs 1,020 crore.
