Delhi Development Authority Launches Phase IV of Online Housing Scheme

By Rishabh Chamoli | 2023-06-16

In a significant decision, the highest decision making body of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved to commence Phase IV of its online housing scheme on June 30. This move, aligned with the Prime Ministers vision of Housing for All, allows individuals to book their preferred flats in desired locations through a hassle free process. Under this phase, prospective buyers can secure their desired flat and floor by making a nominal booking payment.

The DDA, led by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who also serves as the DDAs chairman, convened a meeting where they additionally sanctioned two alternatives for the owners or allottees of Signature View Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar, namely buyback and redevelopment, as stated in an official DDA statement.

The Authoritys approval to launch Phase IV of the online housing scheme is a significant step towards realising the Prime Ministers vision. This phase allows individuals to reserve their desired flats in preferred locations and floors on a fair and transparent first come, first serve basis.

The statement emphasises that there are no prerequisites requiring individuals to own a plot or house in Delhi to be eligible for booking these flats. This approach facilitates multiple home ownership within extended families, thereby enhancing urban living.

For the first time, the DDA is offering Middle Income Group (MIG) flats in Dwarka and Narela, along with High Income Group (HIG) flats in Jasola, in addition to Low Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) flats in Rohini, Siraspur, Narela, and Loknayak Puram under the first come, first serve (FCFS) housing scheme.

Furthermore, the Authority has approved proposals to allot flats to eligible families from adjacent JJ clusters in Kalkaji and Jailorwala Bagh. This initiative aims to provide slum dwellers with a more hygienic, safe, and comfortable living environment.

The DDA has constructed 1,675 EWS flats, each measuring 31 sqm, under the in situ slum rehabilitation project. Through a lottery system, 1,093 eligible families from Jailorwala Bagh, Ashok Vihar, have already been allotted flats, and demand cum allotment letters for the remaining flats will be issued soon.

In addition, the Authority has approved the eligibility determination for 1,500 families of Navjeevan Camp, Govindpuri, Kalkaji, to provide houses under the in situ slum rehabilitation project. The DDA has constructed 3,024 EWS flats specifically for this purpose at A14, Kalkaji Extension.
